What are the acceptance steps for the installation specifications and operation procedures of the clean air supply unit (FFU)?

Installation and operation process of clean room FFU + full acceptance inspection steps
The overall process is divided into four major stages: installation appearance acceptance → electrical system acceptance → single machine performance test acceptance → comprehensive performance acceptance of the clean room. All must be qualified before it can be handed over for use, in accordance with standards GB51110-2015, GB/T36068, and GB/T13554.
The first stage: preliminary installation appearance and structure acceptance (after the installation of the ceiling truss / keel / FFU is completed)
Data verification acceptance
Verify the drawings, FFU factory certificate of conformity, high-efficiency filter test report, motor parameters, spare parts list;
Verify the model, size, air volume, EC/AC motor, and the design of the group control system are consistent.
Ceiling keel structure acceptance
The hangers, main / secondary keels have no deformation, are firmly welded, and the hanger spacing is ≤ 1.2m;
The levelness of the keels is detected with a level ≤ 2mm/m, the overall flatness ≤ 5mm;
Confirm that the ceiling load meets the FFU load, and there is no loosening or sagging.
FFU arrangement and installation appearance acceptance
The outflow surface of the FFU is uniformly downward, the arrangement is aligned, the positioning deviation is ≤ ±5mm;
The sealing rubber strips between the FFU and the keels are complete and continuous, without gaps, fractures, or uneven compression;
The fixing bolts are evenly locked diagonally, the box body is not squeezed or deformed, there are no missing or insufficient bolts;
The joint of the FFU has no obvious gap, no debris, or loose wire ends left on the sealing surface;
The FFU box body has no scratches, peeling, rusting, and the outflow surface of the FFU is not deformed.
High-efficiency filter installation acceptance
The filter core is without damage, leakage, or moisture, and is installed only with the frame under force;
The filter and the FFU static pressure box are closely adhered, without warping, gaps;
Before commissioning, the filter core is completely covered with dust-proof protection film.
The second stage: special acceptance inspection of the electrical control system (first detect in power-off state)
Power distribution circuit acceptance
The FFU has an independent power supply circuit, and a matching leakage protection device is configured;
The wiring is neat, strong and weak electrical lines are separated, and there is no squeezing at the air outlet.
Grounding and insulation acceptance
The insulation resistance to ground of the entire machine tested with a 500V multimeter is ≥ 1MΩ;
The equipment shell is reliably grounded, and the grounding resistance is ≤ 4Ω.
Connection and control acceptance
There is no wrong connection of zero, live, and ground wires, the connection terminals are tightened without loosening;
The group control FFU address code is unique without repetition, and the control panel indicator lights are normal;
The speed regulation function (0–10V / multi-level) is adjusted smoothly, without runaway or tripping.
Power-on no-load test acceptance
Test each unit one by one, the fan has no abnormal vibration, noise, or burnt smell;
The speed of each gear is stable, without sudden speed changes, and there is no overheating phenomenon.
The third stage: FFU single-machine performance acceptance (after removing all protective films)
Wind speed uniformity acceptance (five-point method)
Take four corners + five central measurement points at the outlet, the reference wind speed is 0.45m/s;
The deviation of the single fan’s wind speed is ≤ ±10%, the difference in wind speed of all FFUs in the same area is ≤ 15%.
Noise detection acceptance
Measurement points: 1m away from the FFU, 1.2m above the ground, noise ≤ 65dB (A).
PAO aerosol leak detection (core main control item, non-compliant shall not be put into production)
Upstream smoke emission, the aerosol concentration meets the standard;
The scanning probe is 2–3cm away from the filter surface, the moving speed is ≤ 5cm/s;
Key scanning: filter paper surface, filter rubber strip, FFU frame, keel joint;
Judgment criteria: penetration rate ≤ 0.01% is qualified;
Leakage point handling: repress the seal / replace the rubber strip / replace the filter, retest until qualified.
Fan operation stability acceptance
Continuous single machine operation for 2 hours, no shutdown, no overheating, no significant attenuation of air volume.
The fourth stage: overall system comprehensive acceptance of the clean room (all FFUs are simultaneously turned on)
System pre-cleaning acceptance All FFUs are turned on. After the continuous self-purification of the sealed clean room for 24 hours, the detection can be carried out;
Daily usage acceptance: The detection can be conducted only after the self-purification for 15-30 minutes after the machine is turned on.
Air flow pattern test acceptance
Smoke test: The working area is vertical laminar flow, without vortex, dead corners, or turbulent flow;
There is no obvious air short-circuit at the edges of the shed and around the equipment.
Indoor pressure difference acceptance
The clean room maintains a positive pressure of 5-10 Pa relative to the non-clean area, and the pressure difference remains stable without dropping after the door is closed.
Air cleanliness particle acceptance
Test according to the design level (ISO 5/6/7 grades) for ≥0.5 μm and ≥5 μm dust particles;
The static particle concentration meets the requirements of the national standard GB/T 36066 and is qualified.
Temperature and humidity acceptance
Temperature 18-26℃, relative humidity 40%-65% RH, with stable fluctuations.
Falling bacteria / airborne bacteria acceptance (required for pharmaceutical and food dust-free sheds)
Place the settling plate statically, and the number of colonies after cultivation meets the GMP clean room grade requirements.
Phase 5: Operation process, documents, and completion acceptance
Operation and shutdown standard process practical acceptance
Assess the operators: The operation process of turning on, adjusting speed, shutting down, and handling abnormal situations is standardized;
Verify the feasibility of emergency handling processes such as power failure and fan failure.
Maintenance support acceptance
All pressure monitoring points for primary and secondary filters are complete;
Equipped with wind speed meters, particle counters, PAO leak detection instruments, etc. for detection tools;
The FFU operation inspection record sheet is posted on site.
Completion documents transfer acceptance
Completion drawings, equipment qualification certificates, filter test reports;
Complete sets of original records for wind speed, leak detection, particles, and pressure difference detection;
FFU operation and maintenance manual, electrical wiring diagram.
Acceptance qualification rules (mandatory requirements of GB51110)
The main control items (sealing leak detection, insulation, cleanliness, and pressure difference) must be 100% qualified. If any one item is unqualified, the overall acceptance will not pass.
General items such as appearance, arrangement, and noise are qualified at a rate of ≥80%;
After all items are met, sign the “Cleanroom FFU Installation Completion Acceptance Form”, and the cleanroom can be delivered for production use.
