Automatic Roller Shutter Air Shower Pass Chamber: Daily Maintenance Guide to Extend Service Life
The automatic roller shutter air shower pass chamber integrates cargo dedusting air shower and rapid isolation functions. It is a key equipment for clean workshops, logistics corridors and buffer rooms. Its operational stability directly affects the dedusting performance of the clean area, equipment service life and operation safety. Daily maintenance shall focus on four modules: roller shutter system, air shower dedusting system, electric control system and structural safety components, following the principle of "prevention first, regular maintenance and complete record keeping".

Automatic Roller ShutterAir Shower Pass Chamber

1. Roller Shutter System Maintenance: Smooth Operation & Reliable Sealing

The roller shutter is the core passage component of the equipment. The maintenance focuses on mechanical transmission and curtain condition to prevent jamming and air leakage. Curtain cleaning: Wipe the curtain surface weekly with neutral detergent (diluted detergent) and soft cloth to remove dust, oil stains and adhesive residues left by goods. Strong acid, strong alkali or sharp tools such as steel wool are forbidden, which may cause aging and cracking of the curtain and damage the coating, thus impairing sealing performance. Guide rail and transmission lubrication: Inspect the guide rails, rollers, chains and gears monthly. Blow away foreign matters inside the guide rails with compressed air, and apply a small amount of silicone-based grease (machine oil is not recommended, as it tends to attract dust). Apply special chain oil to chains and gears every 2–3 months to ensure no abnormal noise or jamming during opening and closing. Adjust the tensioner if the chain is loose: over-loose chains skip teeth, while over-tight chains wear rapidly. Sealing inspection: After closing the door every week, check the fitting condition between the curtain, guide rails and floor. If gaps appear on both sides or at the bottom, check whether the guide rail is deformed or the curtain is offset. Correct the verticality of the guide rail or curtain position in time. Repair or replace the curtain at an early stage if local wrinkles or damage occur, to avoid air exchange between clean and non-clean areas.

FourCore Maintenance Modules

2. Air Shower Dedusting System Maintenance: Stable Dedusting Performance

The air shower system is the core for cleanliness control, ensuring normal operation of fans, nozzles and filters. Filter cleaning & replacement: The pre-filter (mostly metal mesh or non-woven fabric) can be removed weekly, back-blown with compressed air from the non-air inlet side (air pressure ≤0.5MPa to avoid filter damage), or washed with clean water and dried before reinstallation. Replace it immediately if the filter material is damaged or heavily stained. The general replacement cycle is 3–6 months. The HEPA filter (efficiency ≥99.97% @0.3μm) shall be tested every 6–12 months. Replace it promptly when the resistance reaches twice the initial resistance or cleanliness fails to meet standards. Ensure the sealing gasket fits tightly during replacement to prevent bypass leakage. Nozzle and fan inspection: Check the stainless steel nozzles on both sides monthly for blockage, deformation and angle. The nozzles are generally set at 30°–45° oblique to the cargo passage instead of blowing straight to the floor or housing. Listen to the fan when starting the equipment weekly. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, shut down the unit and check whether bearings lack lubricant or blades accumulate dust. If the wind speed drops obviously (below 25m/s), check filter blockage first.

3. Electric Control System Maintenance: Prevent Unexpected Shutdown & Safety Hazards

The electric control system acts as the equipment’s brain, focusing on short-circuit prevention and sensor failure avoidance. Control box dust removal: Power off the unit monthly, then clean dust on contactors, relays and circuit boards inside the control box with a dry soft brush or compressed air. Dust accumulation may lead to poor contact or short circuit. Do not use water or liquid detergent for cleaning. Fasten loose wiring terminals once found. Sensor calibration: Rapid roller shutters mostly adopt infrared photoelectric sensors for door activation, while the air shower chamber uses photoelectric switches or radar to detect incoming goods and trigger air shower. Check the alignment of sensors weekly and adjust the angle if offset, making sure the sensing area covers the cargo passage. Test sensitivity with a carton shield. If the door fails to move or air shower cannot be triggered, clean the sensor lens first, then calibrate parameters according to the manual. Safety protection function test: Check the emergency stop button. The equipment shall stop immediately once pressed, and manual reset is required before restart. If equipped with infrared anti-pinch sensor, block it with a board to verify automatic reverse opening. For mechanical anti-pinch type (bottom buffer strip), check the integrity of the buffer strip and replace it if damaged.

4. Structure & Auxiliary Components Maintenance: Stable Installation

Check whether the frame of the air shower chamber is loose or deformed monthly, especially the connection parts with floor and wall. Seal gaps with high-temperature resistant sealant to prevent air leakage from the clean area. Replace aging or falling sealing strips around the door in time. Clean the internal platform daily to remove dust and debris dropped by goods, which may block passage or floor drain. Inspect the drain pipe (if equipped) weekly for smooth flow. Clear blockages with clean water or special dredging agent to prevent water accumulation and microbial growth.

5. Maintenance Log & Cycle Management

It is recommended to establish an Automatic Roller Shutter Air Shower Pass Chamber Maintenance Record Form, recording maintenance time, content and replaced parts (filters, sealing strips, etc.) for traceability of equipment status. Adjust the cycle dynamically according to usage frequency: for high-frequency application scenarios, shorten filter cleaning interval to every three days. All maintenance work must be carried out after power-off. Maintenance personnel shall wear clean suits to avoid contamination. Complex operations such as HEPA replacement and electrical overhaul shall be performed by the manufacturer or professional engineers to comply with cleanroom acceptance standards.

Standard Operation Traceable Maintenance Record

Systematic maintenance can effectively reduce sudden failures such as roller shutter jamming and air shower malfunction, greatly extend the service life of the equipment, and keep the dust removal and contamination control performance of the clean area continuously qualified.
