There is no fixed standard for the cleaning cycle of box-type filters. It mainly depends on the dust concentration in the usage environment, the type of filter material, and the operating resistance of the equipment. For specific classification, please refer to the following:
Classified by usage environment
For low-dust environments such as clean workshops and office Spaces, it is recommended that box-type filters made of synthetic fiber filter materials be cleaned once every 1 to 2 months. It is recommended that the fiberglass filter material be purged once every 1.5 to 2 months.
In high-dust environments such as industrial plants, mines, and painting workshops: Synthetic fiber filter materials need to be cleaned once every 2 to 4 weeks. The fiberglass filter material needs to be purged once every 1 to 2 weeks.
For scenarios with a lot of cooking fumes and oil stains (such as the kitchen exhaust system) : It is recommended to clean it once every 1 to 2 weeks to prevent oil stains from clogging the pores of the filter material.
Classified by filter material type
Non-woven fabric/synthetic fiber filter material: It can be washed with water and blown clean. The cleaning cycle should follow the above environmental standards. It is recommended to replace it after a cumulative cleaning of 3 to 4 times.
Fiberglass filter material: It cannot be washed with water. It can only be purged under low pressure or gently brushed with a soft brush. Replace it directly after purging 2-3 times without further cleaning.
Activated carbon composite filter material: Cleaning is not recommended. Dust on the surface can be gently blown off. When the activated carbon layer is saturated with adsorption, it can be directly replaced. The replacement cycle is 3 to 6 months.
Judging by running resistance (the most scientific basis)
When the operating resistance of the filter reaches twice the initial resistance or approaches the final resistance marked on the equipment, cleaning must be carried out immediately regardless of whether the preset cycle has been reached. If the resistance still cannot be reduced to within 1.2 times the initial resistance after cleaning, it needs to be replaced directly.
