Daily maintenance and operation of air shower transfer Windows

I. Standard Operating Procedures
1. Preparations before operation
Check the appearance of the equipment: no damage, the door body closes tightly, and the indicator light of the interlock device is normal.
Function check: Turn on the power, confirm that the fan starts up, the air outlet of the air shower nozzle is normal, and the differential pressure gauge shows within the qualified range (usually ≥10Pa).
Environmental confirmation: Personnel in the clean area and non-clean area on both sides of the transfer window have all taken clean protective measures, and the surface of the items to be transferred is clean.
2. Item transfer process
Operations on the non-clean area side
Open the side door of the non-clean area (the side door of the clean area will automatically lock and the interlock will take effect).
Place the items on the storage platform inside the transfer window to ensure that they do not block the nozzles or clog the return air passage.
Close the side door of the non-clean area. Once the door is in place, the air shower system will start automatically (or manually press the “Air Shower Start” button).
Air shower process
The air shower time is set at 10 to 30 seconds (adjusted according to the cleanliness requirements). During this period, it is strictly forbidden to open any side of the door.
If large items cannot be fully air-washed during transportation, the surface of the items should be manually cleaned or sterile packaging should be used.
Operation on the clean area side
After the air shower is completed, the interlock device automatically unlocks the side door of the clean area.
Open the side door of the clean area, take out the items, close the door body, and the equipment will return to standby mode.
3. Handling of abnormal operations
Door interlock failure: Immediately stop using it, hang a “Fault under Repair” sign, contact the operation and maintenance personnel, and do not force the door open or manually pass items.
Fan not starting/Abnormal air output: Check if the power supply is normal and if the filter screen is clogged. If the fault cannot be eliminated, stop the machine and report for repair.
Abnormal air shower time: Enter the control panel to reset the parameters and confirm that the parameters have been saved successfully.
Ii. Daily Maintenance and Care
1. Daily maintenance
Cleaning: Wipe the inner and outer surfaces of the transfer window and the storage platform with a clean cloth to keep them free of dust and stains.
Functional check: Confirm that the interlock device, air shower system and indicator lights are working properly, and record the reading of the differential pressure gauge.
Debris removal: Timely clear the remaining packaging materials, dust and other debris in the transfer window.
2. Weekly maintenance
Primary filter cleaning: Disassemble the primary filter and blow it from the inside out with compressed air (pressure ≤0.3MPa), or rinse it with clean water and then dry it reinstall.
Nozzle inspection: Confirm that the nozzles are unclogged and undamaged, and the air outlet direction is normal.
Door seal strip inspection: Check whether the door body seal strip is intact, without deformation or detachment to ensure the sealing effect.
3. Monthly maintenance
High-efficiency filter inspection: Judging by the differential pressure gauge, if the differential pressure exceeds twice the initial differential pressure or reaches 25Pa, the high-efficiency filter needs to be replaced.
Electrical system inspection: Check whether the power cord, plug and control panel are loose or aged to ensure electrical safety.
Fan maintenance: Listen to whether the operating sound of the fan is normal. If there is any abnormal noise or excessive vibration, lubricate the fan bearings if necessary.
4. Quarterly/annual maintenance
Comprehensive cleaning: Remove all filters and thoroughly clean the internal air ducts and return air grilles of the transfer window.
Performance testing: Contact professionals to test the air velocity, cleanliness and interlocking performance of the air shower to ensure compliance with the technical parameters of the equipment.
Replacement of vulnerable parts: Replace aged door seals, indicator lights, control panel buttons and other vulnerable components.
Iii. Maintenance Precautions
Before maintenance, the power supply must be cut off and a “Do Not Close” sign hung to ensure operational safety.
Filter replacement should be carried out in a clean environment. Before installing a new filter, it is necessary to check whether the packaging is intact and undamaged.
Cleaning supplies should use special cloths and cleaning agents for clean areas to avoid introducing contaminants.
Establish maintenance and servicing records, detailing information such as maintenance dates, contents, models of replaced parts, and differential pressure readings, for easy traceability.
Non-professionals are not allowed to disassemble core components such as high-efficiency filters, control panels, and fans without authorization.
Iv. Common Faults and Solutions

Fault phenomenon Possible reasons Solution
The interlock of the door body has failed The door magnetic switch is loose or damaged. The interlock controller is faulty Adjust the position of the door magnetic switch; Replace the door magnetic switch; Inspect the interlock controller
The air shower doesn’t produce any air Power failure; The primary filter is clogged. The fan is damaged Check the power supply; Clean/Replace the primary filter; Inspect/Replace the fan
The reading of the differential pressure gauge is too high The high-efficiency filter is clogged Replace the high-efficiency filter
The air shower duration is too short/too long The parameters of the control panel are set incorrectly Reset the air shower time parameters
